Windscreen wipers

Steve,
This may not be much help, but when I went to replace the very tatty and tired wiper arms with some new ones on my '79 911sc I found that the sc ones had been superceded by the supposedly better 964 wiper arms. It may be that the springs are stronger? Although it does not improve the standard of windscreen clearance have you considered changing the park position of your wipers to increase the depth of view?
Sorry it's not much.

I've never really found a solution to this problem, the best I can suggest is use stock equipment but polish the screen with toothpaste or a good cutting compond, make sure the stock arms and blades are in tip-top condition, new arms are not cheap. Does anyone know if the springs are available seperately? One mod I am carrying out soon as the weather picks up is to change the park position from right to left. As an experiment sit in the passenger seat and see how much more you can see.

I have fitted 964 arms to my SC.Mainly because my OPC told me the originals had been superceded. They have twin springs instead of a single one.Got to be a cheap upgrade anyway.
I agree with Bones. Why did Porsche make the arms park in front of the driver like they do on LHD cars.If they had left them as they were we RHD customers would have got a better deal for once-If you have an LHD car you get the exhaust to listen to with the window open.It sounds much better; if you have never ridden in the passenger seat of your own car try it!

Even better than that Stephen is to mod' the wipers so they park on the left (about 1/2 hours work) and fit a Triad 2 in 2 out exhaust to mate up your newly fitted early heat exchangers.

Noticed wiper blades on an Audi TT they are very bendy and realy shape around the curve of the screen have been thinking about these as the standard SC ones are not very good at the very least.
