Getting the screen will not be a problem, though they are pricey. Make sure the installer takes care as many a 944 starts rusting around the screen after a duff installer has clipped the paintwork whilst replacing the screen []

or buy cheap second hand ones on ebay but those need proper checking for chips and scratches as well.

Hello
I'm thinking of buying a 944 and looked at one today but it has a large chip on the windscreen. Are windscreens readily available through the usual replacement companies ?

Thanks in advance

Or just tell your insurance company it happened after you'd bought the car. Providing your fully comp with windscreen cover. It'll cost you your excess. 😨

And you've just posted it on an open forum! [:D] Seriously, insurers do trawl the forums for fraud. Not worth it IMO.

Remove A Pillar trims as the windscreen guys always catch them with their cheese wire when removing the screen, i 100% promise they will catch it.......remove them before fitting []

Even if we take fraud out of it I would probably still wish to deal directly with only a few companies. A chap in Leicester I know (whom upon recommendation I used for my Stag) is very good. On my modern he changed the screen without chipping everything around it.

I got my fraud advice. From a very close friend who works for a large insurance company. £450 for a windscreen which would only cost around £100 to make. Now that's fraud in my eyes.

Hi Daddyscoob We're after the same advice my thread is currently running too, should you get information which isn't posted could you let me know if possible, I'll also do the same. JT
