My windscreen has developed a minor crack and I suspect needs replacing. Is this something that can be delegated to normal windscreen replacement companies or do I need to be more careful?

Depends how brave u are ! Mine go thru main agents [they are paid for in the most part by insurers ] have had everything from rooflining cut to baring the metal on the front valance ...........never new about the latter ,it was under the 'outer' rubber, till the rust came through....................at least if its an OPC yo have some leverage if they mess it up !

MAke sure whoever you get to do it, they have (or you buy) the teflon/ptfe tape to go in between the screen and the rubber otherwise you have every chance of getting the lovely squeaking windscreen noise. Better safe than sorry - and an OPC weould be the ones who would know about it, whereas most indy's would not be aware.

Guys - thanks!

That is what I suspected! I had visions of phone call along the lines 'we don't have the actual screen in stock sir but we can make this mondeo screen fit!'
