Wing bolts

Morning Chaps !

As ever I'm after some advice/ pointers on a non-technical straight forward for the bloke with the right knowledge type stuff.......

On the 944's there's a series of 10mm headed screw bolts that screw into a captive clip on thread. They're used a lot for securing the front wheel arch liners, bottom of the wings and more importantly the top edge of the outer wing where it runs along underneath the edges of the bonnet.

I really need to replace all the rusty manky pairs (bolt & captive clip) that secure the arch liner. Any suggestions as to the part numbers or sources such ?

thanks

Chris

Right managed to answer my own question !

These appear in illustration 801-25.

The 'bolts' are listed as no. 2 = N 090 172 1 combination screw

Whilst the fixings or captive clips are no. 4 = 999 507 003 02 speed nut 6,3 x 17

The pair from OPC costs £75p inc vat.

Now all I have to do is find a generic alternative !

I did a similar thing as all the clips and bolts were missing from under tray etc, the bolts are easy and I searched under speed clips for the other bit.

Cheers
Paul.

Waylander - most helpful you're a star.

Which clips go with 10mm hex head 6mmx 19mm bolts ?

I've also found these on amazon:

Can't remember off the top of my head but I bought a whole heap of them all all different sizes, there are some "special ones" scattered around a 68 that I had to get from OPC but the rest are standard

The under tray uses chimney nuts not standard U clips, if you are replacing all sorts of bolts and screws you might as well buy a big selection

After loads of searching on tinternet....

I managed to find EXACTLY what I was looking for at a local motorfactors in Peterborough = www.millfieldautoparts.co.uk

Very helpful people and more importantly you can buy almost any bolt/nut/ fixing either in multiples or individually at low prices.

Or you could collect up all your used fixings if not too rusty and take them to your local platers. After an acid dip and replating they are as good as new again.
