Winter approaching and my drivers door wing mirror heater has stopped working (pasenger side OK). It is possible that a wire that has come loose in the mirror pod. Anybody know how to remove the glass (safely without braking it) so I can check the wiring connections behind it? Many thanks

Just be brave, and give it a tug. It clips on to the motor at the back. You will then see the connector wires.

I didn't see this! have a similar problem myself I found this morning because of the temperature drop!

Going to check the voltage on the circuit at the back of the glass to see if it's getting anything...

Many thanks for advice and diagram. Have tried a 'brave tug' without result and I am loathe to tug too hard in case the glass breaks. So have decided it can wait for the next visit to either an OPC or Indy to do the check for me.

I'd say instead of tugging things like this you should really use something like a single small tile lifter - a very safe way of removing glass, and very cheap on ebay or the like. I have a double and a single one and they are very useful.
