Wing mirrors and sat nav!

hi,

I hope you are all well.

A couple of questions,
1) has anyone changed 996 (2003) for 997.1 or 2? As the 996 don't fold I thought I might look into changing them.
2) my sat nav seems to be stuck. I updated it a while ago and recently took the disc out to play a cd, now it doesn't recognise the disc. I have tried to reset but doesn't seem to help? Any ideas.

thanks

I'm not sure about the mirrors, but I didn't think the 997 ones were electrically foldable.

As for the map CD, try copying the original disk to a good quality CD-R in your computer. Burn it at the slowest speed you can. The PCM drives are a lot more fussy than computer drives, so if the original disk is slightly scratched you can produce a replacement this way.

Both 996 and 997 mirrors manually fold. The 997 ones have a kind of plastic strut to keep them in place, the 996 ones just need a solid shove

Thanks guys, do people think the 997 mirrors look better on a 996 C4s or would you keep it original (i will obviously keep the 996 ones) as values seem to be rising?

The Sat Nav is being a pain, I will do what you suggest Richard. My phone slot does not work, I have seen costs for repair about £200? I understand you have to send the whole unit in, is this an easy removal? Any ideas which is the best (/cheapest place to send?)

Thanks
