I know this has been posted about before but could someone tell me what it is I need to protect my rear wings from the devil stones flying up and pinging the tops of my rear wings from the underside?

Aparently i'ts a standard 964 part. I can see that I am partially covered under the nearside arch (That's drivers side on an original RS) but this may have been fitted by Lutz.

Can anyone help...Just prepping for Silverstone

Assume you are prepping for the F1 G-Prix in July. If so, don't think the FIA will allow you to run with underguards due to increase in aero efficiency approaching 993RS levels.........If on the other hand you mean Judgement day 2 @ Stowe corner, then suggest re-inforced steel liners to increase weight as much as poss[:D][:D][:D]

Thanks Laurence.....not sure that I've got Acrobat reader on my steam driven computer, but I will try.

G RS...Yes prepping for Judgement day II. Currently performing a weight reduction program. I've drained the washer fluid, taken the dust caps off, removed 3 wheel bolts from each wheel and just about to drain the oil and chuck the filter and oil tank....Need all the help I can get against you 993 hooligans[:D]

There is no perfect solution as in a part that requires no mods and bolts straight in. The only 964 era car with better rear arch protection are the turbo body cars. They have a an extra black plastic screw in part at the front and rear section of the rear arches. Your options are to order these and modify to fit. This solution will still leave a section at the very top that is not fully protected.

Alternatively you could order a set of 993 narrow body rear arch protectors and modify these to fit. This solution will cover all the arch, but will likely cost the most and be more of a challenge. I was thinking of giving this a go at some stage and will let you know how it goes.

More common from what I've seen on cars come my way is to stick a very durable material directly on to the underside of the rear arch or paint them with a fairly heavy duty stone chip. I'm not keen on either of these solutions, but each to their own.

I'm sure this has been covered somewhere before.

I was thinking along the same line as you Paul. Let me know when you've found a solution. I'll sit back and put my feet up in the meantime.
