Winglet Problem

Hi all,
Just wondered if anyone had experienced one of the clips coming adrift from the back of the shark fin winglets near the sill.
I noticed my one had come lose, and on further inspection i found one of the clips had come off from a previous fix.It seemed to be glued on with a rubber type compound.
Would anyone know what to use to reattach the clip to the winglet as there is no fixing point.
I think the whole car is coming out in sympathy at the moment as the engine is out at the moment for a complete rebuild.Have had to sell wife, kids and arms and legs !!!
Many thanks if anyone has any ideas on glue e.c.t.

tec 7 very good for fixing,i hit this with my jack before and used this...hope i am talking about same thing...comes in clear, black white etc

Those fixings are a b*gger and prob as badly designed as the tinware and the headlamp fixings!

They break easily and TBH, super double sided sticky tape poss the only answer (or small screws in the wheel arch lip like my car....)

So, your second post Mark -tell us more about you and your car!!!

ORIGINAL: Melv

(or small screws in the wheel arch lip like my car....)

That´s what you see on many cars used on track. I don´t like to drill holes in the bodywork, so some tape (as Melv says) or glue, which is used for e . g. windows, is a good solution. These winglets indeed are a problem.

It's often that the plastic tabs on the sharks fin itself have been damaged. The clip with lug then has nothing to attach to. i.e. buying a new clip won't solve the problem. Mine had a bad fix done on it too so I cleaned away the glue efforts of the PO and found I had a small amount of the tabs left. I then glued the clip back into place with lots of epoxy resin (the stuff that comes in two tubes that you have to mix). Left it to set for a couple of days before putting the fin back on.

Many thanks for all your help. Can only find tec 7 in Belgium, but will keep searching.
As for the car Mel .
You have met me before at Silverstone at the classic. The best time i have had in my car on those parade laps.
The car had a small oil leak around one of the cylinders and a need for new valve guides as sometimes puff of smoke on startup.
Turns out the pistons not much good either. So complete rebuild and check. Will let you know how it all goes.
