Morning all

I have been contacted by the events manager at Brooklands museum as the uptake for Porsche display places for the August Bank Holiday Car and Aircraft show at the home of Top Gear is a little slow.
We have a number of cars including 996 GT3's inc an RS, a 996 GT2 and an LE turbo and 997 Turbo for the Sunday.
If you have an interesting Porsche, ideally with a motor sport pedigree kindly post your interest here or contact Donna Hopton direct at Brooklands Museum.

Thanks

John

I wholeheartedly recommend this event, I was there last year and going again this year.
I had an unforgetable chance to race a 993 RS down the runway, along with many other incredible cars.
Apart from the track time, it's a really great day out with spectacular aeriel displays.

Hi

Just met with the team at Brooklands re Wings and wheels.
All members who have contacted Brooklands direct are included and just need to complete the registration form and return if not done already.
For some reason interest referred to the RO wasn't passed on.
Please all note that there are still spaces for interesting Porsches to participate particularly on Bank Holiday Monday.
If you can attend please contact Donna Hopton at Brooklands Museum and pass this message on to friends etc, PCGB membership not a pre requisit and it's a brilliant day out , fab airshow, and an opportunity to sprint your car on the runway.

Thanks

JC

Hi John,
Maybe you are missing the London RO report page in the last Porsche Post?

We have 10 spaces for both Sunday and Monday (each); I was travelling overseas from work so haven't checked the latest uptake but I still had a few space left for both days. On Monday I'm keen to get cars who want to then convoy to Ace Cafe for our annual bbq after the W&W event.

It is easy to reach conclusions and post on forum but worth doing some background research first before making statements like, "For some reason interest referred to the RO wasn't passed on." I appreciate you have long history with Donna and she is great and my primary contact for our annual Porsche display at Brooklands but this events is being run by the Neil Sinclair (Special Projects Manager) and Allan Winn (Museum Director).

Porsche Post is the club's official publication which goes out to every single member so that has to be my prioirty. It is good you are organising your own group but it would be great to have all Porsches in one area.

All the best,
Kish

Hi Kish
My meeting was with Donna and Neil and they made the statement I reported based on remarks from members.
Notwithstanding this it appears that some order now is restored and all members who expressed interest direct to Brooklands are accomodated.
As I said there is some capacity for additional cars particularly on the Monday.
Good luck with a convoy.

Would these "members" be your usual gang by any chance or actually random London region PCGB member who saw my note in Porsche Post (which you somehow seem to have missed out) tried to email or call me and had no response? I have only had an email from Rod and no voicemail or email from your usual group or you so not sure how you or they can make such claims.

As mentioned I have been overseas from work (Tokyo) so the mobile phone advertised in the Porsche Post was kept off but I had no voicemails what-so-ever when I switch it on...

Kish
I got involved because Brooklands called me, you were unobtainable, concerned at the lack of Porsches signed up fpr Wings and Wheels.
I posted a note on the R20 forum inviting members to participate and contact Brooklands directly. Some did and made the point to Brooklands that they had contacted you but the enquiry had gone no further.
I also requeste 'my gang' the active members of R20 to support the event and as usual they stepped in and are now registered.
For the third time let me repeat that there are slots available for interesting Porsches from whatever source and interested parties should contact Brooklands direct.
Perhaps now you are returned from Tokyo or wherever you could pick up the reins and fill the vacant slots.
'Hands on' is always best I find. Lets now move on and enjoy the occasion.

All the necessary paperwork and passes received safely. I'll be there on the Monday - see you down there......

Hi - am i right in thinking this is for "interesting" Porsche's only (GT3's, that sort of thing?) If there is any desire for something more pedestrian i am likely to be there on the bank holiday Monday with the family in my 997 C4S. All the best, Andrew

A great event, and a great attendance by PCGB, roll on next year! [:)]
