Having seen the amount of interest in the Skylive Airshow event I thought this may be of interest to R3. It appears to be on a WWII theme. Details of all air displays haven’t yet been released.
I have spoken to Fishburn Airfield and they are happy for us to attend as a club. Entry for authorised exhibitors is free, no matter how many people are in the car.
Air displays, classic cars & bikes, military vehicles, fireworks, kids entertainment, live music, evening entertainment, licensed bar, food & drink.
There’s provision to camp foc if anyone fancies roughing it.
There is no age restriction on the cars and although we have been requested to be in by 9.30am no restriction is in place on movement for leaving times. Places will be limited to around 20 cars for this event so please register asap to guage interest for our R3/PCGB display. Other Regions are more than welcome to join in also.
Details here
(no need to register on their site, we're already registered as a club, just let me know so I can tell them how many cars will be attending)

Regards Greg.

Hi Les, we didn't seem to get much interest about this at this months meeting, so I have sent it out on the club news letter to gauge interest. I think only a couple of people were interested but we are still thinking of attending regardless of numbers, if so I would be happy to take the club gazebo in case it rains or is chilly(you know what old airfields are like). Always good to have somewhere to shelter when you need it most. Watch this space hopefully we will get a few more, sounds like a great day out we saw the aerial twilight pyrotechnic displays at Silverstone Classic this year and I must say they are pretty impressive to watch.

Thanks Greg - I am definitely interested in attending- please let me know the details nearer the time!
Great newsletter btw!
Regards
Les

Hi Greg,

Unfortunately my porsche is still being re-sprayed so I won't be taking it to Fishburn. I do intend going to the event so will catch up with you then.
regards
Les

If you are planning on going to this event, all cars must be on site by 9:30 at the latest. See you at the show.

Really enjoyable day but as usual the weather played it's part. We had 8 cars on display everything from Jim's lovely 3.0 Carrera sportomatic through to our own Cayenne SE Hybrid we had a nice mix of cars, 4 water cooled, 4 air cooled models, which seemed to generate lots of interest and hopefully a few potential new club members. Well done if you manged to brave the cold, for those who did we were treated to some cracking air displays later in the day. Well worth staying back for as were the military displays. Overall a fantastic mix of car clubs with some really beautiful cars out for the day. Special thanks to Chris and Pat for staying back to help take down the gazebo and packing the car, your help was greatly appreciated.
Fingers crossed that Fishburn Airfield run this event again next year well worth a visit.
