Winter tyre availability

Anybody tried to buy N rated winter tyres for their Cayenne? Looking for 255/55x18 and so far have drawn a blank - Michelin say they're not making any in that size for the UK, haven't found any Pirelli or Dunlops. Porsche tell me they must be N rated (or what?) and the OPC's are happy to sell me tyres - but only if I buy them fitted to wheels!

I had a set fitted last week at Micheldever down in Hampshire. Worth a trip for me as they were £100 a corner less than the OPC.
They are part of the Protyre group and Hardy Tyres in Shropshire would be your nearest, I guess. Micheldever had 100 winter tyres delivered a couple of weeks ago, so they may be able to help through their network. Mine were Bridgestones, on 19" but worth a call to see if they have any to suit you.

Tony i can endorse Pikey's post
Go for the Scorpions.
There is a co in uk i think Tyres4u .com or similar where you can
get the continental spec scorpions which i am told are far better than
the normal UK spec

I've fitted Nankang Snow tyres from mytyres. Cost 115 £ each in 255/55/18. Not N rated but then they are for snow/ winter not speed. I will update their wear/ progress over the winter on here.

Does anybody know where I can sell a set of winter tyres, I bought them last winter after a bad experience on standard tyres, porsche only had them on standard alloys, so had to buy tyres and wheels complete, which in reality wasn't a bad thing as the sexy wheels didn't get damaged in the winter! but I have changed from a cayenne to a 911 now and they are just taking up space in my garage, is there a porsche parts website somewhere, thanks
