Winter Tyre Query

I have a GTS4s Cab, I would like to take advantage of the oversupply of winter tyres or be able to help someone shift a good redundant set. With this in mind could the guys advise me whether I could fit 295 diameter rears on the standard centre lock alloys currently carrying 305 diameter tyres as spec'd with the car. It is difficult to locate good centre lock alternatives for winter and I would like to do an October transfer, I will require to use some less travelled routes this winter as part of my business expansion.

I have a 4S with 305s at the back for summer, 295 for winter. Fits straight on the same alloys, no issues whatsoever!

295 is the recommended rear winter tyre width for your car and will fit the existing wheels, but why not try to find a good wheel and winter tyre deal available with some Porsche Centres? There have been some good deals available so it's worth ringing round and don't forget your Club discount if you become a PCGB member.

Regards,

Clive.

Don't forget tyres are date stamped so not a lot of point buying tyres then not using them for 6-9 months, also they need to be N rated for your warranty if you still have that. D

I didnt realise there was an oversupply but you could also try Chris at Exel wheels. He's sorted me out with a couple of sets of wheels and N rated tyres for various of my cars, including a 997. The Pirelli Sottozero winter tyres really do make a significant difference. Changing the wheels yourself will be a challenge due to the torque requirements. Am not sure where you are based but if the username is a clue then you are a bit outside of his area but I am sure he can arrange for delivery.

Hi, I have a set of wheels and tyres available for your car from my 997 Turbo S, purchased new at the end of last year with less than 300 miles on them, all as new.
