I realise this may seem absurdly early just as we finally seen the summer sun poke through but I had the tyres changed on my other car last week and the (highly recommended) bloke from event mobile tyres, when questioned about winter tyres for my 997 C4S told me i should ring up and book them as they dont order many and when they are gone they are gone. Does anyone have any experience with putting winter tyres on a C4S? Would anyone recommend any particular tyres? The car is my daily drive and living in Sevenoaks we get a fair bit of snow but even when there isnt snow if the next winter is like the last one it was cold! I also occasionally drive to Zurich where winter tyres are mandatory after 1 December but I imagine the tyres would be cheaper in the UK (most things are). Thanks in advance. Andrew

Ask your OPC for the official winter tyre recommendations for your model - you might find the info on the Porsche website somewhere, even possibly in a few of the pdf extracts there from Christophorus magazine. Most tyre manufacturers won't start making winter tyres until September - www.mytyres.co.uk normally have the most extensive selection i know of; whilst it will be limited for Porsche due to N ratings etc, they are likely to have better availability.
