After last winter I don't want to get caught out again, so started my search for some winter tyres thing is I cannot find any????

If anyone can point me in the direction of some N rated winter tyres I would be grateful..I've been on the michelin and pirelli websites and they have no N rated tyres?

Cheers

Neil

Check with your OPC for the recommended fitments but www.mytyres.co.uk have the biggest range of winter tyres listed. You may have to buy 18" rims tho!

Well according to the tequipment catalogue they do winter tyres in my standard 19" sizes so no need for 18" rims but I've tried mytyres and come up with zip...

Please read my post on mytyres misery as now on week 4 and still awaiting a refund on tyres I cancelled due to protracted delivery. Also worth searching "mytyres/Delticom problems". I will update my view on mytyres when issue resolved. In the mean time I have purchased a set of Vredestein windtrac 4 extremes (for my Range Rover Sport) due to favourable reviews around the net. I used a company up at Hull "tyremen" they were knowledgable about the tyres and I had them at my house the next day after ordering delivered for £10. Give them a call and ask them about N rated as I'm sure they could help. cheers Paul

I believe the only 19inch N rated tyres available are pirelli sottozeros. They are 295 rather than 305's at the back. I had a quote from my OPC who would have been happy to supply a set of new rims and tyres for about £2,800 (although I wonder if there is any scope for a group buy...?) and from Event mobile tyres (whom I have used before and would recommend) for £950 for just the tyres, which i thought was pretty good. They dont come up as available on the Event website but if you call them they will order them for you now for fitting in, say, November. I believe that, until this year, generally people had run 18inch rims with winter tyres due to the non-availability of 19inch n rated tyres but would be interested in confirmation of that if anyone knows for sure. All the best Andrew

I'd check with your local OPC but this seems to be the approved options for997 gen1&2 cars 235/35 R 19 (87V) M+S 295/30 R 19 (100V) XL M+S Continental Winter Contact TS 810 N0 For frequent driving on motorway With pirelli winter 240 snowsport in the same sizes/load ratings the other choice for all sorts of driving Bear in mind most tyre companies will only just be starting to make winter Tyres and prilrity will be given to countries where they are compulsory. Most uk tyre sellers can't be bothered with winter Tyres due to lack of demand and poor supply.

Have a look at this link [link=http://www.porsche.com/usa/accessoriesandservices/porscheservice/documentsanddownloads/]http://www.porsche.com/usa/accessoriesandservices/porscheservice/documentsanddownloads/[/link] on the Porsche USA webiste and you can get all the approved summer and winter tyres for your car. I'm using Vredestein Wintrac Xtremes on my 996 TT. Not technically N rated but you will see from the list above Porsche themselves also list some non N rated winter tyres. Was going to order it from [link=http://www.mytyres.co.uk]www.mytyres.co.uk[/link] or [link=http://www.camskill.co.uk]www.camskill.co.uk[/link] but in the end got it from Design 911 with replica rims in 1 package.

Just had a set of four N-rated Winter Sottozeros delivered this morning in the sizes listed above (997.2 C2S 19"). Mindful of the problems noted with Mytyres, the supplier, I ordered through an intermediary (local mobile tyre fitter) so they could sort out any problems rather than me. Indeed, Mytyres initially delivered the wrong tyres and I was glad to have someone else to sort out the mess - apparently Mytyres are very amateur.

I have just put a set of Sottozero II's on my C4S. Great service by Chris at Exel wheels who supplied me with a used (but v good condition) set of Carrera S rims and the tyres at a very competitive price and came out and swapped them over etc. Nice to work with someone who takes such care - eg he unscrewed all the bolts by hand rather than using a gun to avoid any risk of scratching the wheels. Now all I need is for it to get properly cold again!

Ordered some winter Nokian tyres for my Golf via mytyres a few weeks ago - absolutley fantastic service. Excellent tracking service, hassle free and follow up customer service.. Experience was so good just bought a further 2 summer tyres for the Golf from them - again absolutely no issue. Bar waiting 3 days for them to arrive at my chosen fitting centre i have nothing but recommendation for them.
