Winter's here and i still wanna burn around with the hood down...

How cold does it need to be before not putting your roof down in fear of the rear screen cracking.

I use the Boxster for weekend drives and wanna drive it with the hood down.

Went out today and thought i would chance it; put the heater on full for 10minutes of driving before lowering the roof to warm up the screen. ALso raised it immediately after driving as heat from engine was keeping the screen warm...

Any thoughts and previous posts

Mine's got a glass window, but previous TVR was plastic. The recommendation for that was a minimum of 12c before putting the roof down.

Warming the window with a hairdryer does the trick - and everyone with a boxster has a hairdryer, don't they?
 
I think you're confusing them with M-B SLK owners. Boxster owners use industrial strength heat guns... because you wouldn't want to risk standing too close and getting your Martin Margielas marked by the bodywork would you?
