wiper blades

does anyone know what size the windscreen wiper blades should be as i need some new ones.

The ones that are on at the moment look a bit small.

cheers

They are just standard wipers so I just went to Halfords and used their flip chart things to get the right ones. Can't remember the sizes though.

As usual with Halford their chart is rubbish. From memory they either have all 944s using the same front blades or they split around the 1985.5 model. Either way if everyone followed the list they will either end up with too small wipers on coupes or too big on cabs.

Measure the old one, decide how much more you can go (1/2" either end get a 1" bigger blade etc.) and then buy one the right size. They pretty much all come with a variety of attachments, one of which will fit. I usually pay the extra for a spoiler on the driver's side blade only.

I haven't measured mine for a while [&:] but I believe we are talking 18 inches! I got them from www.berlyn-services.co.uk for £6

I shall measure mine tomorrow (when the neighbours aren't looking) and get back to you [:D]

Must be more than that Paul. I gave my cab a full 19" a couple of weeks ago and it's got a smaller screen.

Not 100% certain as I'm not beside the car at the mo with a tape measure, but I'm 99% certain I have a 19" blade on the passenger side, and a 21" on the drivers side.

I'm 100% certain I have a 24" on the rear (to replace the standard which I think is 21"). It's a huuuuuge improvement. [:)]

See HERE FOR THE REAR

thanks for that every one

i thought the rear wiper was pretty rubbish - i will look to fit 24"

helen - thanks - i assume you found that it the handbook ?
