Wiper mechanism

Decided to take the wiper mechanism out today as whilst it works as it should it screams for the first dozen wipes before it shuts up. It seems to be the joint under the motor and I've greased and WD40 everything I can feel but it doesn't solve the problem.
Currently I'm stuck on the bolt that fits into the bulkhead. A search shows I'm not alone here but there seems to be uncertainty as to whether the heater box needs to come out first?
I would have thought the wiper arms would slide out with the heater in place if I could get to that nut. Anyone recall what size it is?
Thanks

'fraid you'll need to take the heater out first - then there is a bolt under the windscreen which is best reached with a socket & extension. I've a spare 'long' arm for the mechanism if that's the worn part - happy to send for P&P if you need it - but they are only a couple of quid OEM

Thanks Lawsi. Is there anywhere with instructions as to how. Clarks doesn't seem to.
