Hi All
Can someone please tell a make/brand of wiper blades to buy that don't squeak....the squeaking drives me mad and I have had the same problem on each of the 3 porshce's i have owned
I have tried Bosch ones, Halfords ones and several types from Porsche shop and design 911....every make seems to squeak/rub and it annoys me
If anyone can recommend ones that don't annoy me I would very greatful
Thanks
Rich

Are you sure it's the blades and not the screen that's the problem? Give the windscreen a thorough clean. Try white vinegar and newspaper to remove all deposits and traffic film. Clean the wiper blades too, then see if that improves matters. Regards, Clive.

Not an issue I've seen on here before. I would imagine that the rubber on each blade is pretty much the same so what about the windscreen instead? I use fast glass (autoglym) and have never had squeaky wipers on any of mine. Or you could try "Rain Away" in which case you don't need the wipers at speeds over about 40!

Another possibilty, if the blades only squeak in one direction, is that the angle of the wiper arms may need some adjustment which can be achieved with some careful bending.

You might also want to clean the windscreen then apply a solution which makes water run off the screen such as Rainex. This as well as clean wipers adjusted correctly and renewed when they harden off should fix it.

+1 for Terry's suggestion. The objective is to twist the wiper arms so that the blades operate on the screen at a similar angle in each direction. Check that both definitely flop over at the end of each sweep (amazing how many people put up with blades graunching across the screen without flopping over), and don't turn so much that the edge of the blade base touches the screen (which might be your squeaking). Use an adjustable spanner (or similar) on the wiper arm as near to the blade mounting point as you can - lift the arm off the screen to facilitate this. Wrap the arm in a layer of cardboard or cloth first to save marking it. Then gently twist the arm to achieve the desired result. Some blades eventually develop a slight set one way as a result of being parked, so occasional readjustment can be necessary. Check operation when the screen is fairly dry and soaking wet. For a quiet life I've had to do this on every car I've owned at some stage.
