Wire colour for stereo dimmer

Hi, just installing the new head unit and I can't find the wire that dims/brightens the stereo display. I've got an orange one coming from the head unit but can't find a corresponding one from the cars wiring loom.[]

Would anyone know if there was originally provision made for this and what colour it might be please?

I don't think that the original loom made provision, but all you need to do is connect it to the wire going to the illumated switches for foglamps etc. just to the right of the din slot. It just needs current so that the head unit can tell when the lights are on - most competent car hi-fi installers will know how to do this in five minutes flat, probably for free. Best not risk it yourself in case you fry the loom []

Thanks Chris,

There's a couple of unconnected wires that are taped to the loom, one's white and one's green so I wonder if it could be either of those. I'll switch the lights on and off and see if one of them responds with a 12v feed. Beyond that I'll take it to a professional!

The feed wire for the aerial amplifier is white, if that's any help.
