Wiring Loom Recall

I have found out today by phoning PC Tonbridge that my 993 has not had the wiring loom replaced as per the Porsche recall. They say that they will have the car in and check the loom then replace if required (4day job).

Can anyone clarify what the issues were with the loom as I cannot get the car to them until end of August. I want to keep using the car which has already covered 100k but am worried if there is any danger of fire etc.
