Wiring Loom?

Kaz

Does anyone know if my 2007 997 C2S will have a wiring loom (for the cd)? I'm trying to organise getting a mObridge iPod Connector fitted and the installers are not sure without seeing the car (they're in Milton Keynes) if there is one as they said some cars came out of the factory without it.

Thanks guys

I don't know if it is the same on the 997, but quite a few 996's were prepared for CD autochangers without the changer actually being fitted. The preparation included the mounting bracket, and the cable. You could check the option sticker in the maintenance booklet - option (I)689 is "Preparation for CD autochanger". If you have that, there's a good chance you have the cable.

Kaz,

Was your car speced with the 6 stack CD changer? If so, the mObridge supplier can give you all the instructions any good installer will need to install the mObridge.

If you don't get a copy, send me a mail lewea@yahoo.com and I'll scan the instructions I have.

Regards
Mark

p.s. it is the same lewea from BM3W ;-)

Thought I recognised the name [;)]

Thanks for the info. I didn't spec the 6 cd player as I was going to have the iPod fitted so it seemed a waste of money. I'm having the mObridge unit fitted next week at JZ Machtech near Hemel Hempstead (should be a nice drive from Cheltenham). Hopefully these guys will be able to sort everything out in about an hour and a half - fingers crossed! I've hated not having a large varied selection of music in the car.

Kaz,

Do you need me to scan a copy of the install instructions? They were supplied by Adrein from HigherOctane.

Cheers

Thanks for the kind offer Mark but I'm being a girly wimp and letting a professional install the unit, so I won't need the instructions (and I hope they don't either - LOL)

If your car was not specced with a Cd changer its possible you will need the MOST cable for the CD changer. I'm assuming you have a PCM and not CDR 23/24. There may also be a requirement for the head unit to be configured by the porsche workshop tool so that it recognises the Cd changer/ Mobridge unit. The MOST cable will be an orange fibre optic cable that runs from the bulkhead to the rear of the CD changer/ NAV compartment in the front luggage compartment. On my car is was routed behind the carpet in the front trunk just below the rubber seal that presses against the underside of the bonnet at the rear.
