Come on you Boxster buffs, hand on heart, do you really wish you were in an SLK
when on a long journey with that awful noise behind your ears or are ear plugs a standard issue?

been in both many a time .... owned 4 Boxsters ... never owned a SLK ... you do that maths[;)]

What's an SLK Mr Jennings [8|]

I test drove the new SLK350 before ordering my new 987S, and can honestly say that not only was the noise level higher in the SLK, it was also just a deep, boomy bass rumble, verus the mechanical symphony of the Boxster. The sound of the Boxster versus the SLK was a major plus for the Porsche in my buying decision

Hmmm, I agree that the SLK is a decent car and in AMG guise is rather rapid too.
However, I plumped for another Boxster over the SLK as I couldn't afford the monthly blue rinse and bouffant which is (I understand) de rigeur for SLK owners.
I do see quite a few parked outside nailbars for some reason, and not a lot on track?
How strange![:D]

What awful noise? That's pure music, that is! I've driven a couple of 2000 mile trips in the Boxster and still have my hearing intact.

You're having a laugh aren't you! Not sure why I bothered with the BOSE now - that engine note is amazing!

This cannot be a serious comment, if i wanted a merc i would have bought one, the boxster is a brilliant car, i drive mine every day, all weathers long and short journeys, the CD player does not get used except when being cleaned on the driveway.
There is always someone who has a view that people want something else than what they have bought, next you will be saying all Boxster owners really want a 911, the 911 is a great car but there is something distinctive about the Boxster, I for one intend to buy another
