well its been a week since Ive drove my car and its killing me. Just want to get behind the wheel again... hopefully will hear on Monday from Porsche on whats wrong with car and when I will be getting it back.

Anyone else ever suffer this when your car is in the garage?

My GTS has just been in for 6 year (and a whole host of other things unfortunately for my wallet) and I had a lovely new Cayenne S diesel and then a 520d as hire. The Cayenne was great for the family stuff and a lovely motor, the BMW worked out great for a planned trip the Cotswolds rather than the Golf workhorse.

But it was great to get back into the 997, it actually felt quite dated compared to the Cayenne and the BM, which is a good thing for me. I didn't think I'd missed it that much, but as soon as I hit 6k rpm on the drive home realised I had.

Be brave - we are not men of straw [:D]

By this time next week all will be well at zuhause kelly - In answer to your question I do to

Ha, I'm glad I'm not the only one! :)
Hope I get her back soon, there's only so much Guinness I can take to ease the pain :) ....

Living in Central London I only get to take the car out for a decent hoon at the weekends. It drives me mad in between. Since the summer's arrived I've taken to getting up around 4am on a Saturday or Sunday and taking the Porker for a spin up the M1 and around the great roads of Aylesbury. Monday through to Friday I have to put up with poking my head around my lock-up or giving the car a quick polish.

I hope you get yours back soon, raykelly.

hey Simon, 4am, sounds like a great idea! especially with the dry weather we are having lately. Yes, i have my car back and thankfully all going good. :)

I'm glad you've been reunited. Setting off around 4am is fantastic, especially in central London. When it's busy it can take an hour just to reach the outskirts, but early morning the roads are clear. It feels like I have the place to myself.

Sounds magic! I live in the country side so I do not have the traffic problems....just a lot of bad drivers and young guys messing on roads...the other evening I was coming back from buying some wine and about 2 mile form my house round a corner and I was greeted with a young guy in a Golf, zig zagging left to right on the road! (this is a B road) with all his mates laughing! Ohh I was cross...Just wished my dash cam was working because I would have reported him. Never mind hitting my car but my wife uses the same road with our kid in the car... oh man I am still cross lol!!

When I get a chance, I tend to go out about 8pm this time of year and go for a spirited drive....nothing better after a long day at the office!

This dip in the weather is driving me mad. I'm dying to get out there, top down for some spirited motoring outside London. I'd take the car down to the south of France but I fear I'd exceed my damned Locktons' mileage limit in one weekend!

Raykelly, why is it always hot hatches that create the problems? I'm constantly getting buzzed by them in London - blacked-out windows, lowered suspension etc.
