Wobbly gearstick

Hi All,

My 944 has a wobbly gearstick and it is on the list to fix next. I've already replaced the parts that wear on the linkage to the stick and replaced the plastic mount underneath the stick, so the slop is at the connection to the gearbox.

I've had a close look at the PET documents and cannot see what bushes I need to buy to restore the gearstick movement. I've seen short shift kits but I want to keep the workings original.

Has anyone done this job previously, if so what do I need?

Thanks for the help.

Best wishes

Jason

I picture would be very revealing if anyone has one. It's a really simple bit of kit and very obvious how/where it wears. You'll need a tubular nylon bush, I think either Jon M or Hartech will send you one of the right size to replace the standard part if you ask them.

Thanks for the info. I will make contact tomorrow and order one. Ill take some photos while I do the job and post them.

I'm not sure if Jon only supplies his uprated versions now but he used to do original rebuilt bits too on an exchange basis, might be able to persuade him to send you a bush
