Zeb, Contact David for details regarding tickets etc. This year it is supply your own food but there will be hot and cold drinks provided. Also I understand biscuits and cakes. Main day will be the Sunday but help is always welcome on the Saturday for setting up (always a good laugh watching someone trying to straighten out the bunting and cleaning the little plastic flags!). Saturday evening we will have the BBQ. I'm not taking the R18 Race Centre this year due to the problems with some people not being able to read the notices about what not to do in the toilet! In fact I don't think I'll be doing the 'Night Watchman' job either, probably better to come home and have a good shower and a night's kip ready for Sunday. Cheers, Fred

[link=http://www.woodvale-rally.org.uk/]http://www.woodvale-rally.org.uk/[/link] Must be the biggest car and model aircraft event in the North of England. Always on the first weekend of August. Loads of things for all the family, fun fair, big trade and craft village, selling everything from pots 'n' pans to tents. Cheers,

Contact David Baker (R18 RO) to get your ticket booked and paid for if you want to join us and be part of the display. Limited numbers this year and no car will get on the stand without a windscreen sticker as parking spaces will be allocated beforehand. No ticket and no sticker means you will politely be directed to the public parking area. Cheers,

Woodvale Rally - August 1st & 2nd (first weekend in August) You need to contact David either before the regional meeting or see him at the regional meeting (Garstang Golf Club - Wednesday July 15th) if you want a ticket for the region's premier event of the year. The ticket gets you into Woodvale on both days and at Ă‚ÂŁ7 per car, that must represent excellent value for money. Saturday is setting up day, help is always welcome. (A bit like Fred Karno's Circus sometimes but a good laugh). Saturday evening is the barbeque with your resident chef David D flipping those burgers and turning those sausages. (Lightly cooked lettuce for Simon M). Sunday is the main 'car' day at the show. Also bikes as well which this year have been separated from the cars so they have their own area. Drinks, hot and cold will be provided but bring your own food. Wednesday's meeting is Alternative Car Night, hopefully the weather will be kind to us and we can all stand in the car park drooling over clapped out Mondeo Estates and the like! Cheers,

Now Fully Booked All the tickets have now been sold so if you haven't already booked via David then I'm afraid your car will not get onto the R18 plot on Sunday. The plans have been drawn up and finalised to accommodate the cars that have booked. You are more than welcome to come along and join in the fun but please park your car in the public car parking area. Cheers,

Jeremy You should have received your entry ticket and display sticker by now, together with instructions for the weekend. Give me a call if you haven't received them

Jeremy (and other interested parties) All display cars have to be there by 09:30. RAF Woodvale's Health and Safety policy (not ours). If you can aim to be there for about 08:30 you will probably be given a flagpole and told to plant it somewhere![:)] Cars not there by this time maybe refused access to the display area by the officials and directed to the public car parking area. As David has said, instructions included with your ticket and sticker.

We have a bike event in the morning but will drive over in the afternoon see you then (we know we'll be in the regular carpark).

Thanks to everyone who made this Woodvale Rally weekend another resounding success. Without your help it wouldn't run smoothly. Thanks especialy to the organising team of Colin Appleton, Fred Hindle, Dean Easterby, Mark & Kathryn Greenwood, Mike & Lesley Plank, John Cooper, David & Janice Delaney, and of course Judy. Despite threats of rain, the sun broke through Saturday afternoon whilst we completed assembly of the stand, and it stayed find through into the evening whilst we had our barbeque. Sunday started with stiff breeze, but as the day wore on the sun came through and we had typical Lancashire weather. For those of you who had booked and didn't make it for one reason or another, you missed a good event. Thanks to all the members who came along from other regions. Sorry if I didn't get time for a chat, but I am sure the team will have mede you very welome and fed and watered you well. Keep the 1st weekend of August 2010 free for next years event. A full report will appear in a future edition of Porsche Post. Many thanks once again to everyone who made the event successfull. Apologies if I have missed anyone out. Regards

A really enjoyable weekend with a group of close friends. What better way is there to pass the time. We had a great time and thanks must go to everyone concerned for making it all seem so effortless. Particular thanks must go to Fred for his meticulous planning, Phil and Irene for the loan of the marquee, Mark and Kathryn for the use of their wonderful horse box, David and Janice for the barbeque and everybody else who fetched and carried with such good humour all weekend. Our main thanks, however, must go to David and Judy without whom Woodvale Rally would be a much less enjoyable experience. We can only speculate at the number of hours they both must spend getting it all together, but it really is appreciated by the rest of us. Yet again Region 18 at it's very best. Well done everybody.

Another great Woodvale weekend. Well done everyone, I don't need to mention names as you know who you are already. I didn't hear a bad comment about anything all weekend. I hope that everyone enjoyed themselves as much as I did, good craic with friends old and new. Nick has even put a picture of one of my cars in this thread (not sure he knew it was mine or whether he sussed out the reg plate! - Cheers Nick) [:)][:)] Sacrifices to the weather gods worked once again We don't have to make it better next year 'cos' it is excellent already. Cheers,

Don't be so possessive,Fred, the rear of one of mine as well as others is also shown. However, agree with your comments wholeheartedly.[:)]

As interlopers from North West Region(!) I have to endorse everyone else's great remarks. It was our first time to the Woodvale event and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Your organisation and great welcome meant we had a great day at a great event, thanks to everyone. The sight of the Vulcan and byplanes flying over us will stay with us for a long time!! Linda, Peter and Gertie our silver 930.
