Woop woop - Finally bought a car

Hi All,

I've been haunting the forums for some time (actually about a year [:-]).

I finally bought a nice white '90 Turbo SE yesterday night. I'd been looking for ages for the perfect S2 but then drove a couple of Turbo's and got addicted to the booooost (the correct technical term ?[:D]).

The other thing about this car is that I never thought i would like a pinstripe interior, but in fact it rocks - dark blue with white pin. So sophisticated :p.

Here's photos: http://www.carandclassic.com/car/C92805/

I have some work I need to do to it, and have some questions which I'll stick in a separate post.

Cheers to everyone that contributes to this forum - the level of suport and interest available on here was a major factor in deciding to get one of these cars!

Good news Ed, and it looks like you bought a car we've been discussing on here previously.

Hi Rav, James G,

I went to see this a couple of Saturday's ago as soon as it hit CarandClassic. it's not too far from me so I didn't have to go through the normal email exchange of questions and photos (if seller is willing !).

Liked it immediately so paid for a pre-purchase inspection then went and bought it Friday.I did see that it was being discussed on here while I was having the inspection done - Inspection didn't reveal any horrors so I thoght I better buy it sharpish, especially since the garage had given full copy of the report to the seller, which I was a bit miffed about since it was me that had paid for it...

The sills are cosmetically ropey, but don't seem too rusty (have been repaired - but not brilliantly).

Having seen so many cars with rusty sills, in the end I decided that I wouldn't worry about it too much as at least the outer is non-structural. Something I can save up for getting done in a year or so once I've had some fun in it and got the mechanical bits sorted.

Good luck with your search Rav!

Nice one Eddy!
I have had my turbo for almost 2 months now, and it is just getting better and better as I make the little tweaks...
Going in for full service/MoT/Belts on Monday, so hopefully it should be even better after that
