We are fortunate to have the newly crowned world champion at our next monthly meeting on 19th November. Jon Lee's boat " Miss Windermere" has just retaken the World water Speed Record for propellor driven boats, back from the Americans, who snatched it from Jon in 2002. Jon's craft has a supercharged 7 litre engine, producing some 850 hp.
His fastest one-way run was over 165mph, with his best 2-way run to gain the championship was over 150mph. Jon will be bringing his team and showing a video of his record attempt on Windermere on October, to the meeting. Jon lives in Chorley and has financed the latest record attempt, as well as his previous world record attempts on a limited budget. This is a rare chance to meet a locally based World Champion.
