Worth converting from a 944?

I currently have a 944s, and its a lovely car - but I may have the opportunity to obtain a 928 relatively cheaply.
Are they worth the upgrade in terms of performance and most of all 'fun'?
 
I would think so although I cannot make the comparison - never had a 944! On the other hand I do have a 928 (GTS) - 5.4l engine, 350bhp, top speed (haven't tried it) +170. It's a joy to drive!
Depending on whether you do your own maintenance (ideal) or (at the other extreme) take it to your friendly OPC it can be expensive to maintain. I am only repeating what has been often said: you are buying a car that was quite expensive originally and even though you may buy for a pittance the parts will be as befits the car!
I certainly wouldn't have missed the experience!

Interesting question as I have a 944 but have always hankered after a 928.
It is difficult nowadays if you have around £8-10k to spend on a Porsche as that gets you into a good 928 or 968 or a reasonable 964......what a choice!
