Wotsit Wurth?

Pardon the pun []

I contacted Wurth to enquire about the underseal used on the 944 and where I could get some. (I need a very small amount to repair a "pealing piece" on the trailing edge of one front wheel arch).

The response I received included this:-

I believe the product you require is a water based
stone ship called SKS which is available in BLack, Grey and Ivory in a 1000ml container which screws onto an air gun.

I wouldn't be using this with an air gun (I'd hoped I could prep the area and brush it on).

Can anyone confirm:-
1. Whether this sounds like the correct product
2. Whether you can indeed apply by brush?

Thanks[8D]

I would expect it's very similar to the stuff used back then. Things like this move on, so I doubt Its the exac same stuff, but close enough.

have a look here: http://www.wurthusa.com/project/en/leftnavi/catalog/product.php?path=06.0510.jpg

There are two maybe alternatives in a spray can that you could use.

I suppose another option would b to cal your OPC and find out what they would use (but then I guess they'd use stuff in bulk and have the proper equipment too?). Prob worth a phone call though.

When I need to underseal my cars, I normally get a small pot of cheap grease and mix in a small amount of old, used oil (I do an oil change at the same time). This gives a good, gooey underseal that also sticks to anything it touches. Make sure you have room underneath the car to apply with a brush.
