Hi, Looking at buying a sports exhaust but unsure if I can justify the PSE. Would possibly get after market but was wondering how loud etc they are. I'm in Rochester Kent and was wondering if anyone localish has a sports exhaust I could hear before making a descision.

Regards

Darryl

IMO the PSE is the 'must have' accessory on the 996. It is a very clever piece of kit and really enhances the character of the 996 without being particularly noisy.

If your car is fairly new (ie still under original/extended warranty) then you might be wise to have it supplied and fitted by your OPC - c.£1350 without switch, c.£1,750 with switch (after discounting). IMO the switch isn't necessary as the default setting is 'on' and, ultimately, the sound level is controlled by your right foot.

If your car is older, then you could try some of the independents, but you would be lucky to find a secondhand PSE. Alternatively you could consider other makes, but these may not be as refined as the PSE system.

If you're anywhere near the West Mids then you can come and sample mine. But seriously it's the best £1300 I ever spent.

Hi Darryl

You must come and join us at the 2005 Brands Hatch Porscheclub GB Festival, dated 28th-29th August, living relatively close by as you do will allow you to hear directly the wonderful sound from PSE, as some cars are also going on the track you will hear the various sounds at varied revs..not to be missed.
