Would these wheels fit an S2

I've been given the chance of a set of 17" cups that are currently on a 3.2 Carrera, its some distance to go and get them so I thought I would ask you lads first, would they fit an S2 without any spacers? Tyre sizes are 255 rears and 215 fronts, not sure what that makes the width of the wheels or if it has any baring on what the offsets are!
Just before I end up commiting myself.

Cheers

3.2 Carrera is early offset, 944S2 is late offset so probably not, no. They may have the late offset (if they were fitted to the 911 along with big spacers). Could look great on an early 944 though [:)]

I'd check the front tyre size too, they are usually 205 or 225 section.

The rears should have a 40 profile for a 255 section to get the right rolling radius on a 17" rim shouldn't they?

Am I right in thinking that new style hubs as on the S2 are nearer the outside of the car than older ones? That would mean if they are fitted to the 911 with spacers then they should fit mine without [&:] I think, and if they are fitted to the 911 without spacers then they wont fit an S2 as they will stick out beyond the body!!!

Is this correct?

Ouch my brain hurts!![:)]

Yep [:D]

Yes the later hubs stick out further, and later wheels have less meat on them

You can fit later wheels to an early car with spacers

You cannot realistically fit early wheels to a later car (unless you like the Carlos Fandango Wide Wheels look :ROFLMAO:)

If his 3.2 has no spacers - they are not right for your S2

yes you are quite right. I've just gone and checked again. I forgot the measurements between the car and the keyboard lol [:(]

The wheels I'm looking at are the same as these,

I was thinking they were the Cup 1 type, not seen many on S2's but found this photo on Google and wanted your opinion lads, I currently have D90's fitted

What do you think?? [:)]

Oh dear. I always feel like a stick-in-the-mud party pooper when I say this, but I do prefer the D90's! They are the wheels that Porsche bolted to the car when it rolled out of the factory, and they are the wheels of choice. They look good, the size and width suits the chassis dynamics of the car, they are lighter than most alternatives and I can never really see any wisdom in changing.

(I MAY make an exception for Cup 1's, purely on aesthetic grounds, but that's about all.)

Chaps, keep it original. Ugly lumps of fibreglass, 'lexus' rear lights and hideous hoop spoilers lie only a little further down the road you are treading ...

Oli.

Widths are fine - you just need to know the offsets.

If they are round about 50 ~ they'll fit fine and look good.

If they are round about 15 they'll stick oot like Carlos Fandango Stylee, look bonkers and rub your arches (ooh er missus).

Found out today they are ET15's [], bugger!! Never mind, thought I was onto a winner as well as the lad told me they were fitted with spacers on the 911!! Omitted to tell me they were on a 911 with turbo wings grafted onto it, so obviously needed spacers anyway!

Just washed her and still kinda like the D90's though [;)]
