would this offset work? pls

Hi - I have been told that ,5Jx18 ET 33 and 11x18 ET 65 will fit on an RS as arches are rolled (but by the seller) anyone know or know who to ask?

thanks

Julian

I have seen RS fitted with 11" rears and rolled arches, it also depends on the stiffness of springs fitted and how low the car is aligned as to whether you might contact arches or inner wings.....whats wrong with the standard rim sizes?..there is enough choice of Porsche factory wheels and aftermarket BBS race without the added complications

I looked into BBS LM's for the RS, but found they are not made in the correct offsets and you would have to mince about with spacers and the like....I opted for the 5 spoke Carrera 02 wheel, it is made by BBS for Porsche comes in the correct size for a narrow bodied 993 8" & 10" and best of all a set of 4 weighs in at 14kg less than the lardyboy speedlines [:D]

Being a genuine fitment Porsche wheel you see them come up on ebay and PCGB forum for sale etc...wouldn't touch replica wheels though.

Hi clubsport, thanks for the reply. I am on the look out for a set, cheapest I have found so far is £1250 though - maybe that is best way to go. On another subject where is best place to buy toyos 888's? Can you run these day to day too if you dont do many miles?

Most of us seem to buy them from steve & simply tyres 07737741634 they have quite a bit of tread on them when they arrive, ok for day to day...on the road, but better on track.....on the road they are not great straight off on a cold wet road and like all semi track tyres are not great at driving through standing water on A roads (more chance of aquaplaning).
For the price and usability they are probably the best track/road tyre around at the moment....but no doubt someone with a real clue will be along in a minute [;)]

Agree wiv Paul , challenge u to find better all round deal than Toyo s right now .............just to confuse issue though Dunlop abt to come out with something competitive in same arena .........Callum Lockie seems to know abt them .

That sounds good Vic, I also run a set of Dunlop D01J, which I am happy with....I always get concerned when we all get into a good value tyre, either the price goes up....or stocks deplete like the Dunlop SSR we all had.......hopefully a bit of competition to the Toyos from Dunlop will keep thinks cheapish for a while.

I too bought my Toyo 888s from Steve at Simple Tyres. A great guy to deal with and excellent value. I find them interesting on the road, especially in the winter when they never get warm and are "loose". Superb on the track as long as you take out lots of air from road levels. I use 36 psi hot at the back.

Thanks for all the replies, I have spoken to simply tyres and will definitely use them. Toyos sound like the way to go, although the dunlop new tyre is intriguing.

Jason - I have pm'd you
