wrong size rear wiper motor????

I have just bought a second hand one from only 9 and went to fit it last night only to find that the screw/bolt part that goes thru the glass to connect to the arm of the wiper is TO BIG. The part is identical in every other way, so can anyone shed any light on why this would be.
My car is an 87 Turbo which in the advert it said it would fit.

There are two sizes, IIRC the later cars have a larger hole in the rear screen and mechanism to match,

but it could be the other way round. It is usually the interior parts that fail, are they interchangeable?

Thanks for your help. Did not realise the later ones had different sized hole! Will see if the electrical inards can be swapped. Good thinking. Otherwise will see if Only 9 will swap it for me! Thanks.
