WUF passes OPC examination

I wnet to West London OPC today for the R20 (London) outing. A number of cars were booked in for the free inspection and I put WUF in for a laugh when there was a cancellation. [:D]

Complete green sheet with the exception of one lazy rear number plate lamp. [:)]

They were a little surprised when they opened the bonnet, but I think the noise as I drove it in may have given some clues that there were 'some changes' [:D]

Anyway, nice to know I haven't missed anything and the wheels will probably stay on. The wastegate dump to atmosphere plumbing did cause some head scratching though ...

While I was there I had a test drive of the new Cayenne Turbo S, just to compare it with the Range Rover. It certainly packs a lot of torque ! Effortless acceleration and braking really mask the weight. Excellent technology too.

The only question I have is how Porsche can continue to make interior colour schemes that are the worst of any car I can think of. This one, although of the highest quality materials, was in a colour I can only describe as 'Early Datsun', a sort of light shyte brown. Someone else described it as 'fresh nappy' [:'(] [:'(] [:'(]

That aside, I imagine either a black or ivory/linen interior would transform it [:)].

For what it is though, it's extremely good good to drive and the toybox is full to overflowing [;)] [;)]. Well worth a test drive - you may be very very impressed.

I believe the colour code you need for that is actually "hearing aid beige".

It was used by BL a lot in the 70's on the Allegro, and I think Porsche picked up a loat of factory remnants [:D]

It's obviously been a day of passing tests as Beaky sailed through his MOT.

Well sailed through is a bit of lie. He was just failing his omissions test until, on the last second, it turned green.

Mine passed a couple of weeks ago too. The test examiner kept going on about "proper engineering" and "wow" and stuff.

His next test in was a hippy-fied VW Transporter Woodstock Wagon with morefibre glass on the bodywork than metal!

Baby WUF passed last week [:D]

We probably all passed because we didn't have a chunder inducing interior colour scheme ? [:D] [:D] [:D]

Fen, I thought nothing was supposed to pass a hearse .... There's no respect these days. I hope the tester removed his hat / cap [:D] [:D]
