X50 pack

A friend of mine has a 996tt X50 which he is selling and he is not so hot with PC's so asked me to come and take some pics and advertise the car for him. He let me drive the car which I did back to back with my 996 tt.

Mine does not have the X50.

I really could not tell any difference in power!! the only difference I could tell was that his seemed to be a bit better balanced on the edge. I checked his options and he does not have sports suspension.

any thoughts on why this would be?

many thanks!

I can only imagine the huge torque on your car makes it difficult to sense another 30lbs or so on the x50.

a standard and x50 996tt are both massively fast as you know so sometimes it's difficult to tell the difference at first.

However x50 996's have bigger turbos than the standard and the 'shove' should last longer and be stronger further up the rev range.

If you are feeling inadequate against the X50 upgrade then just get a remap on the base TT. These are good for a further 50bhp/80ft/lbs without any further modification - exhaust will get further gains. Another benefit is that the throttle response can be sharper and power delivery smoother.

thanks guys, agreed once you have a great deal of bhp/tourque its probably fairly hard to notice the difference, I am sure if I spent more time in both cars I would notice it more.

David, I will be putting an exhaust on the car and then definitely going for a remap.

thanks
