XENON BULBS UPGRADE

Anyone done the road legal ( i.e. not the 100 watt ) upgrade using these bulbs? Is there a perceptible improvement?

Do you mean upgrading to HID? If so, yes, done it, brilliant (ho ho). I used HIDS4U. Tried conventional bulb upgrade first and considered it a waste of time. I also had HID on my 964 so the step up to a 993 was a distinct step down as far as the lights went.
 
I endorse the above. If you get the Hids4u kit then don't do what I did and waste time trying to bolt the ballasts somehwere insude the wing - apparently the trick is to wrap them securely in bubble wrap and let them hang behind the unit (ensuring that not too much strain is place on the wires). The difference is unbelievable but the kit only does dipped beam.

No issues with heat from the ballasts?
