Well I am one of those poorer 996 owners who can not at present indulge myself in a HID upgrade !
I had up to now been very weary of the bulb gimic, etc.
However, I did a lot of searching and purchased some XENON BLUE bulbs from

they produce a light output around 3900K which gives a better light output whilst
retaining focus; unlike some the claim 5700~6000K which have poor focus
They look good and the light output is much superior, also purchsed the sidelights to.
Total cost was £32 (set for main and dipped beam, and sidelights)
Would still like the HID ugrade eventually !
