Planning to do this upgrade this weekend

Any recomended suppliers?

Which bulb fitment do I require?

What K is best supports driving ? Do like the "hint" of blue but not at the expense of driving visibility?

Many Thanks

+1 on the 5K otherwise the energy just seems to go into the blue-ness. The improvement is remarkable but converting the sidelights to match with diodes is an MOT failure.
How do I know that?

+2 on the 5000k as the top end - even 4,500k is very good and both are a marked improvement over standard. Cheapest and best upgrade I've done!

I used HIDS4U as well. The service was very good, and the kit excellent (despite a slight buzzing from the radio with the lights on, mainly because of the way I have them mounted). I did have to drill a small hole in the headlamp cover, though. From what I understand there are newer kits that fit the ballast into the headlamp itself, which saves all that. Do a search on the forum as this has come up quite a few times.

Cheers/John

I used ACE for my conversion. I think the owner has a 993 Turbo. The ballasts fit easily into the removeable covers but the wiring harnesses tend to be over-long and when stowing them inside the headlamp nacelle it is very easy to jam the levelling system up!

If an LED sidelight results in an MOT failure then that is madness - especially if they pass an HID conversion which I thought had to have an automatic leveller done by sensor.......!!

John, the colour of sidelights is determined by law, but blue headlights aren't. Crazy but a PIA having to swap bulbs and submitting for retest.
Same MOT centre and examiner that I've used for 4 years but HIDs and sidelights went in after the last MOT.

had my hids for dip beam in since 2006, gone through every mot since then no prob`s.
i thought when i got them they were 6000, but not sure, best thing i did was to have them.
