YAY and NOOOOOOO!

Well, last night I was moving a few things around in the garage, a 7 foot piece of iron decided to jump from my hands and the end clonked my engine lid on the 996 :(

I cringed popped off the cover and there was a ding, just to the right of the carrera badge and a one inch gash in the paint [:(], it also scathed the bumper on the way down. Absolutely gutted! Not sure whether to find a new engine lid or try one of these ding master type people.

I have however today had some good news, Porsche called to say my suspension is in !!!!!! Woot! Excited doesn't come close. Popping back to town in a bit to go and collect it and spend the evening under the car :)

So to all those that are waiting on 996 sports suspension, they should be in very soon if not already :D

I just hope I can get the lid sorted after.

I am gutted for you Steve and feel your pain, I have been there too heard a loud bang one night and Mrs thirteen said "somthing in the garage just fell" I said "no its the fff*in neighbours!".
Went to the garage the following mourning to find my mountain bike humping my 5 Series.
Made a right mess.

We learn from our mistakes and some are expensive and with all the mistakes I have made that should make me very clever, well that's not worked.

Bet you cant wait to go for a blast with your new sussies on.

Thanks, yes it is gutting when these silly things happen :( It will get sorted no doubt but how I am not sure yet.

I've just got in from the garage after fitting all the rear components :) I didn't use the M030 springs though, I used the -25 to 30mm Porsche shop ones with the kit. The new roll bar, bushes, shocks, bump stops rebuilt with the new collars and -30mm springs are all on the back and sorted.

I'll tackle the front another day, I was tempted to get it all done tomorrow, but have a bit of work to do and also have to help my brother fit a new hub to one of his cars, so I guess the 996 may have to wait until the weekend. Hoping to get it all done by the end of the week though, then she can come out to play :D

Below is a pic of the goodies when I got home!

Large hacksaw from a shelf onto the rear wheel arch for me! The wife felt so bad for me she went out and tidied the garage which I suppose is a small mercy!

thats why it costs more to insure your car when its parked in the garage rather than leaving it parked in the road. i know this dosent help and i am sorry

Thats how I felt about it, I remember thinking I doubt if a mountain bike would have ended up on the roof of my beamer had it been in the street "but you never know your luck".

Yup, I think they should design padded covers!

On the + side, all new suspension fitted :) Just getting a couple of new number plates made up today, taxing her and she will be ready to try out at the weekend (as long as it stays dry!).
