Yellow callipers???

Hi, so I've decided to have my calipers painted as they're becoming a bit flakey, was just gonna keep them black but part of me was thinking yellow?....... not sure if this is a bad idea or not, just wondering if someone else out there's got a picture of a 944 with yellow calipers? thanks, George

What colour is the car, and what model?

I love splashes of colour on the cars if they are right. Amber lenses, coloured centre caps, they all add a bit of interest IMO.

For some reaosn, yellow calipers look right on series one cars, but wrong on the later models to me. [&:]

Hi, it's a 91' 944 s2 convertible, I love it but maybe it's not to everyone's taste as it's not completely original, colour is aubergine, with the turbo alloys, would like to do something a bit different with the callipers but not sure if it would be a bit too much, I'll try and put some pics up.

I have yellow callipers on a Red 944t.

After 40k miles they look a bit tired as they accumulate black marks in the crevices. I clean them but am not obsessive about it.

Next time they will be black, but will not look so good.

Will leave my GT2 callipers yellow

For lowish miles, and a car that is polished more than my daily driver, its a nice idea to go yellow. Would suit aubergine IMO, as would as set of yellow seat belts [8|]

Dont know how to post images unfortunately.

I think a 944 cab, in a dark colour, will look horrible with yellow calipers.

I'd photoshop it before committing to spending any money!

Red or yellow look wrong on any of the less common metallics to me. Keep it standard with silver wheels and black calipers.

That's such a gorgeous colour.

To me, changing the wheels to black or graphite would ruin it. Changing the lenses to clears would lose the splashes of colour on the corners.

Adding primary colours within the wheels? That would be all you'd ever see IMO, so why make the calipers the focal point when you have a car in such a great colour?

Now, dash trim in that body colour? That's worth thinking about. Subtle way to liven up the interior with some 944 colours, and that looks perfect to me.[8|]

yeh I think your right, maybe a step too far, I was worried that's all your eye would see. It was my dad's idea, he owned the car for about 10 years before I bought it off him, when I told him I was having them painted he suggested the yellow which got me thinking.

Hi my cab is met black with red calipers common I know but looks great I think the colour of your cab is fabulous and the yelo would really stand out go for it worst you re paint in time beautiful looking cab though.

Hmmmmmm. Now seeing the photo's of the car - it looks gorgeous, I don't think I would go yellow myself.

What condition are the calipers, just having them shot blasted and repainting in high gloss with new decals makes 100% difference.,

I wouldn't even want yellow calipers if I was fitting calipers supplied painted yellow by Porsche!

The black Brembos aren't particularly large and they will look terrible.

I agree with Simon (btw Simon are you coming to Rutland?)

That looks like another Zyclamen red car [:)]

Bronze, gold and creams go best with burgundy, not great colours for calipers though.

I associate yellow calipers with carbon brakes. It is the only colour which has an association. That being the case, yellow calipers seem a bit like putting a Turbo badge on the back of something that isn't. But that's just me.
