Sorry for the excitment, but ive just purchased a 944 S2 cab 1991 uk.

I would like help on the following Q's

1. The washer jets dont work, any idea what to look for?
2. Does the car have a standard Porsche alarm fitted to the car?, if so how does it work?
3. The central locking dont work any ideas?
4. Lastly the car was serviced by a Porsche garage, in Nov 03, and since the car has only done 100miles!
It says in the engineers report that : Checked cam belt and balance shaft belt and set to correct tension.
(Does that mean I'm ok for a while or do I still need to change these belts?, last belt change was at 48k)

Many thanks in advance.

Excellent [:D][:D][:D]

1. The pump is on the water bottle just behind OSF headlight. The connections can corrode a little (mine did) so just a pull off and on or a wire brush may help. There should be two motors there, the other is for the headlight washer. I believe they are interchangeable. The motors are not too expensive if it is shot. They just pull out of the bottle (make sure its empty [:D][:D][:D] )

2. It should have an alarm and an immobiliser (may have been disconnected). The immobiliser key will plug into a socket on the steering column or centre console and disable it for about 15secs until you start the engine. It sets when you lock the door

4. If belts were changed over 3 years or 36k miles ago I personally would change them now for piece of mind. The yearly service should always include a check and retension so that report was just part of the normal inspection

Run your hand down the front of the washer bottle until you find the electrical wires coming out - that's the pump [:)] If you open the bonnet with just the ignition on (engine off) and pull the washer lever, you should be able to hear the pump whirring if it's working.

Also, there's a Y-splitter in the plumbing inside the bonnet that can get clogged up - mine did.

Nice looking car BTW - enjoy! [:)]
