Yet another ipod thread

Ok after much deliberation ive decided to get the porsche stereo upgrade instead of the cd autochanger.

The question is now how to get ipod music onto the bloody radio.

Ive looked at the itrip and other FM transmitters and read mixed reveiws. Anyone here used them with decent results?

Other question is as the boxster comes CD changer prepared is there anything to convert the cd changer connection into an ipod compatable format, and if so how tricky will it be to re route this into the cockpit or do i just leave the ipod in the front boot cubby where the changer would be. Or is there a hard drive type music store that would plug in instead of the changer?

Oh and why o why is porsche sooooooooooooooooooooooo behind the times with its ICE options, i think MP3 compatability should be at least standard on the single disc.

Ooooo thats a point is there an MP3 compatable CD changer compatable with the porsche head unit.

Sorry for asking all this but i figure you guys are the best to ask.

Porsche cater for the American and German market first (their largest market, we come in third), so it is all down to the demand and lifestyle in those two territories that reflects what we get; not sure about what they want from their car stereos i.e. mp3, ipod interface but I was told the reason why the phone system has not moved with times is because the German Porsche buyers hardly upgrade their mobile phone and Americans are usually some 6 months to a year behind the latest European mobile phone features, so features like Bluetooth interface, etc are not high up the priority list...

Another unreliable story I have read on one of the forums is that such interface, i.e. Bluetooth or the ability to have external devices plugged directly to the Media Orientated System Transport (MOST) bus, may be abused and used to hack into the MOST bus system, so most car companies are happy to let other parties make such products until they are proven 100% secure...
