Yorkshire Dales v North Yorkshire Moors weekend - Saturday 8th/Sunday 9th October 2011

Hi Everyone,

The meeting place on Saturday 8th October, 2011 is at the Little Chef services(Esso) on the A1 half a mile north of the A638 Wakefield/Doncaster exit, junction 38.

Maggie and me will be there at 0830. Arrive from that time onwards where I will give you your pack. ( Tulip maps, colour map and Masham brochure )

Leave the services at your leisure in small groups and head for Harrogate our first stop.

Route. A1 north Turn left off A1 at junction 45. A659 Otley/Wetherby. Drive into Wetherby. First mini roundabout, left to Harrogate, A661.

Drive into Harrogate A661 towards Skipton. Turn left Kings Road.

Park at Holiday Inn underground car park. Post Code HG1 1 XX

Browse round Harrogate and leave at your leisure.

Zero trip meter leaving the car park and follow tulip map.

Route: Ripley, Pateley Bridge, Lofthouse, Masham.

Park at The Theakstons Brewery, Masham. WE HAVE PRIVATE CAR PARKING ARRANGED.

Browse round Masham. Have lunch. Then follow tulip map.

Route: Bedale, Northallerton, Solberge Hall Hotel.

Evening meal 8pm. Complimentary wine provided.

Sunday 9th October, 2011.

After breakfast follow one of 2 tulip routes to Asenby where we have lunch booked at the Crab and Lobster for 1.30pm.
You really need to be there about 1pm.

Please allow 2 hours for the tulip run. This will give you plenty of spare time to browse round Helmsley or Thirsk if you want to.

One tulip route follows narrow roads from Osmotherley to Hawnby.
The other follows wider sweeping roads. Both ending up at Helmsley.

CAR PARKING AT THE CRAB AND LOBSTER.

Turn left 50 metres before the Crab and Lobster restaurant into the staff car park where all 16 Porsche's can be safely parked.

After a fabulous lunch at a really top seafood restaurant, depart south on the A1 home ( about 400 metres from the restaurant).
