Yorkshire Region Run Out Easter Sunday

Here are the details for the Yorkshire Region run out on April 16th.

I know its Easter Sunday but thats the reason I chose the date in all honesty so I hope quite a few members can make it. I realise that John is interested in the Racing the day after but I still fancied a drive out so here we go..........

Timings

10.00 to 10.15 Meet at the Market Square Masham
10.15 to 10.30 Wait for latecomers and argue about route!
10.30 Set off towards Leyburn, Reeth and possibly stop at pub for lunch (CB Inn as we did 12 months ago maybe)

Then if weather good.....

Continue on to Barnard Castle, Hadrians Wall and to Alston (stop for a drink in the pub where the Lakes overnighter is planned in September)

Return Home via Alston (i think its the Hartside Pass) after that and then Penrith for steady drive home on A66 to Scotch Corner/A1.

The distances should cut the journey into steady 3 stages of equal time....

Masham to Reeth & Lunch (2-3hrs), Lunch stop to Alston (1.5 to 2hrs) and Alston to Scotch Corner (2hrs)

There are quite a few places for bailouts for other commitments or for adverse weather so the run could be anything from 3-8 hrs dependent on weather, where you have to drive home to, how long you want to drive or what time you have to be back.

Nice and easy route as well that I'll cirulate on the day or prior by email if possible to save my printer!

I'm not going to be able to make it to the meeting again tonight for a number of reasons - all work related - but anyone who gets this post pls pass the info on.

Cheers all

Wayne

I will print out a handfull of the post and take it along tonight for those that don't have web access.

Mark.

Hi Wayne,

Sorry to say Irene and I will not be joining you on the run, as we spend Easter with the kids, at home

Enjoy the run

Regards

Adam

Would love to come out for a 'blast' - but will more than likely only make the first part

Mmmmmm My favorite..........

Unfortunatly Lizzie and I cant make it as we are going to Portsmouth for a wedding party. Bit of a bummer as last years drive was really good.
Have fun.

Neil & Lizzie

Easter Sunday is a bit of a problem for us--we may try to meet up with you en route for a couple of hours.

Thanks for the organising

Steve

Wayne,
You wrote "Return Home via Alston (i think its the Hard Knot Pass) after that and then Penrith for steady drive home on A66 to Scotch Corner/A1."
I think you mean Hartside Dodd rather than Hard Knott Pass, its a brilliant road and I recommend that you stop at the cafe at the top, it makes for a wonderful photo opportunity and a great view. Enjoy the day and try and avoid the Sunday drivers![:)]

Fred

Thats the name i was looking for......... I found the road in my lotus days and its always been a fave.

Thanks for the info.

Wayne,
I think it is better going up from Penrith side and then dropping down into Alston.
It is one of the top ten roads in the country (unless you haven't got power steering!)
Cheers,

Sorry Wayne - Other family plans have had to take priority. Looking very much for the next run out

Weather forecast looking good for the weekend, so Rita and I will try to make the run out - at least we will be travelling in the opposite direction to most visitors to the coast!

Regards
John

Weather certainly looks good.

Any chance people could post to let me know they are coming so i have an idea of numbers pls?

Just going for a day out in the lakes so i'll finish the route tonight and bring it tomorrow or mail it last thing to those i have email addrs for. There is no change to the route (yet) from that at the top of the page and of course we can fine tune if req'd.

Again, pls post here if you are joining us so i'll know how many to print off.

Thanks

Hi Wayne,
Mags and myself will be joining the run and possibly John Mulhair from Castleford, I will give him a call to confirm.

See you at Masham or do you want to meet at Ferrybridge services.

Regards
Mark & Mags
