I thought I knew my pre-'89 911's, but I'm ashamed to admit that the 930 Club Sport mentioned twice (pages 21 & 22) in the NEC Classic report in PP is a new one on me....

Surely it can't be a schoolboy error in the PORSCHE CLUB GB magazine?

Its referring to the white 930 carrera CS not a 930 turbo CS
Which is exactly the problem, there is no such vehicle, the car is a 911 Carrera 3.2 Club Sport. 930 is the design number of the turbo and only the turbo of which there was never a Club Sport option, although I have just read of a single RS version appearing in the Porsche museum - but how do I know whether this is true, it might actually be refering to the prototype which was a no frills car more in keeping with the RS ethos, unlike the production cars.

Maybe I'm being pedantic and in the scheme of things it doesn't matter, but forgive me if I expect the facts in the magazine to be correct!

The slightly facetious tone of my OP may have been missed by some...

The club sport has the type 930/20 engine. Not sure if the writer in p/p had that in mind ,
But may explain the apparant mistake. [;)]

Not a chance - and you are WAYYYYYY too lenient! Standards must NOT be allowed to slip otherwise total anarchy will result with all sorts of schoolboy errors creeping in! [:D]

Sadly referring to all impact bumpers as 930s is all too common. Recently went to see a OPC 930 restoration to find a 3.2. Not the end of the world and I hate a pedant, but it surprising how many people you would expect to know better get it wrong.
