Your favorite roads......?

On Saturday I took the CS.1 for a drive.

Headed out from Stratford Upon Avon, my destination was somewhere in Wales!

I went across country on the A46 to Evesham and then Tewkesbury. Took the M5 North and on to the M50 (to south to Wales)

At the end of the M50, it started to become fun......the A40 to Monmouth, Abergavenny, (things now started to get a bit twisty) to Crickhowell, Brecon (bypass) and on to Llandovery (fast and flowing with plenty of 3rd and 4th gear action).

Here I ventured on to the A482 to Llampeter (twisty and highly enjoyable, roads very grippy with plenty of twisty undulations and 2nd gear exists from tight corners) and finally stopped for a cuppa tea at the seaside town of Aberaeron 4 hrs after setting off from home.

As I supped away I reflected on what had been an amazing morning. The traffic was almost non existant, the roads had amazing amounts of grip, the corners tight but consistent and the car, well, what adjective shall I use - sublime, awesome, responsive, fun, nimble, addictive.

From Aberaeron I headed north on the A487 to Aberystwyth and then east on the A44.............totally brilliant. Back to Worcester, and then home the A422 to Stratford!!!

What a day, brilliant roads and most of all what a car........the Cayman S.

What's your favourite road / route?

ORIGINAL: jonnyp1 Know those roads well, good choice of roads and great when no traffic.
Absolutely - I left home at 6.30am and they were deserted! I've not been a Cayman owner for long and so I'm still getting to know it and it just gets better with every mile. I can't see what car can top it for pure driving feed back / enjoyment.

The A82 is pretty good, best at loch ness and loch lomond sections. Inverness to ullapool road is fantastic. There is a corner there that a friend of mine took at 120mph and it gave him a massive thrill. Pretty much anything with no traffic, no wildlife, no crap on the roads, no speed traps and a nice surface. Good scenery is optional. The san bernadino pass was brilliant. Although annoying if stuck behind something. The M6 toll road is nice and wide and not very busy.

favourite roads this country has to be mid wales-sections of which you drove,or the far north scotland. abroad definately the 5hr(approx)route napoleon from grenoble to grasse through the alps. though that is best on a sunny day with the cayman roof chopped off to appreciate the mountain scenery(boxster!![:D])

The A46 & A433 from Bath to Cirencester - the A429 (Fosse Eay) to Tredington and then the B4455 (Fosse Way) to the M6 at Rugby Beautiful road through the Cotswolds, best done early or late as there are few passing places if you are unfamiliar with the road.

Cotswold Blast! The A44 from Evesham to Chipping Norton (Clarkeson's home town) which takes in the famous Fish Hill! Then follow the A361 to Burford and return on the A424 to Stow and back down Fish Hill on the A44 to Ev Evesham.

The B4100 from Jn12 M40 to Banbury. From Banbury take the A361 to Chipping Norton Then the A3400 to Sratford Upon Avon A great open and flowing road.
