Yes,James -- a sad picture. I bet it showed the tell-tale nick in the trimstrip beneath the rear 3/4 window -- & then some ! Couldn't recall where I read about this valuable sign, but have just found it ( around midnight ) -- Porter & Morgan Purchase & DIY Restoration p.42, but I wish I had known about it when I bought my Targa from a PCGB member who didn't disclose the shunt ! Later suspicions were aroused when the bills which came with the car (who looks at them in minute detail ? ) mentioned en passant a new N/S front wing ! And the bonnet/wing shut-line was wider than it should have been.
Happily the distortion is slight, and the body-shell apparently springs back into shape after the impact providing it was not too violent ( according to an expert from the oldest independent specialist ). No long-term complicastions are apparent. Be warned !
