Zymol Wax

So the new car is spec'd and will hopefully be collected from the factory early March 05, so naturally I've started considering cleaning and caring for it................. 5 Months Before It Arrives!!

Previously I've always used Auto Glym stuff and have no problems with there products but I have read great things about Zymol so much so that I have just picked up a starter kit with carbon wax for fifty quid (via ebay) and it's brand new. Looking forward to using it on the current car to hone my skills before the boxster arrives any tips on how to get a quality finish and anything pitfalls worth avoiding?

Posted this the other day and have since seen the seal grey pictures with black interior now even happier about my choices.

Standard 2.7 Car - With Black Hood
Seal Grey Metallic Paint
Bose Stereo & Wind Deflector
Half Leather Interior - Black
Sports Steering Wheel
18'' Alloys
Heated Seats
Sports Chrono
Climate Control Upgrade
Factory Collection
Xenon Headlights
Park Assist
Auto Dim Mirrors

does your opc not offer the 2 or 3 hundred quid diamondbrite/internal external scotchguard thingy?

I had that put on mine and cleaning is more or less with a hose only...

Monster Wheels now a little smaller.

I can get the paint treatment done but honestly don't mind a bit of elbow grease to keep it looking nice.

zymol do a free instruction manual which is worth obtaining, giving the low down on applying their products
in a nutshell don't wax until you've cleansed!!

Andrew would that be with a very expensive Zymol Cleanser Agent or will any old back to paintwork cleaner do :ROFLMAO:

Cleansing and waxing?
I thought the car wasn't getting any cleaner when I sent the other half out to the beauty parlour - am I doing something wrong?[;)]

Zymol will tell you to HD Cleanse before applying wax - that is corect, as you need to remove road film, and any oxidation before the wax will bond properly.

However, if you buy their 'Cleaner Wax' from Hellfords, you can actually apply the expensive waxes staright over the top of this.

the former of course!! and don't forget the Zymol terry towel pad applicator [:D] only a tenner or so for 2!!

If there's anything between the wax and the paint then the wax doesn't attach to the paint - when you wash you may dislodge the foreign matter and the wax with it.

Zymol is no different to the likes of Meguiars or Swissol.

Of the whole Zymol wax range, only Zymol cleaner wax has any cleaning agents in it - their upmarket waxes are just wax.

Even their HD Cleanse will not remove tar spots, since it has no solvent to dissolve the tar. Unlike turtle wax, autoglym, mer etc which do contains solvents / petrochemicals.
