That cover looks really good zymol'd whats the car look like? :ROFLMAO:

Ashley,

It doesn't appear to be 'plugged in' so I assume you don't have a battery conditioner (trickle charger).

With the alarm (and in my case tracker) you can expect the battery to run down quite quickly.

I had to ge Porsche Assist (RAC) out Saturday morning at 6.30am to start my beast and it had only been standing 4 weeks.

Regards

Kevin,

Thanks for the tip, its years since I've had a flat battery, (that sounds like tempting fate!!!!) and then it was on things like sierras and escorts.

Which charger do you use, is it the Porsche oe item and any idea how much?

Ashley,

Don't have one hence the RAC on saturday morning.

I'll enquire at AFN as I might get one fitted at the 1st service in Jan.

Regards

Guys,

Do a search on the forums for battery conditioners (not the same as a trickle charger).

There have been several threads related to these.

(I use a Carcoon one - works great).

I suppose having invested in a winter woolie for it then I guess you'd want to use it .... why not get a refund and use the car instead? More fun IMHO ....

In the Zymol instructions they state that their wax should not be used below
65 degrees with the inference that the wax doesn't bond to the surface. Can any Zymol users confirm this and how do they cope with this guidance in our generally cool UK climate ?

I use a small fan heater in the garage - warm the air around so that the car bodywork is up to a reasonable temperature.

Dig out a pea-sized piece of wax and rub it between your hands, warming it thoroughly (melting actually) and spreading it nicely over palms & fingers. I then swiftly run my hands over a panel (only one at a time). This amount will easily do a panel the size of a door.

Use a microwipe to "take off" the Zymol after a couple of minutes, and an hour or so later buff the set finish gently with a 100% cotton towel to enhance the shine and really set the finish.

(This goes for all the Zymol waxes in a pot - even the Carbon or Creme ones. Forget the foam applicator, especially when it is cold.

never had any problems with zymol which we keep in the fridge (as per instructions)anyway. and i agree with all marks instructions above.

It`s a nice looking car without the cover and as JCB said use it

I use my car come snow wind or rain, (very carefully in the snow) but there again it`s only a 911

I had the same problem as Kevin - flat battery; also have tracker, alarm and road angel; purchased the Porsche charger (plugs into lighter socket) about £35 - no probs since!

The battery conditioner of choice amongst the motorcyle fraternity (who suffer most from alarm drain and winter storage) is the Optimate. It doesn't just trickle charge the battery. I've got four of the things - lots of toys [:)] Get it from Sound Distribution for about 35 quid- they're on the web. Great service.

Ok Guys I get the message, just to reassure you it's not gone into hibernation and will be used again before the spring!!!!!!

Weekends only though and not in the snow JCB, don't trust the Nova boys sliding about with baseball caps covering their eyes[;)]
