Tired Tyres

I'm been thinking about replacement boots for the Turbo S today, so thought I'd take a look around.
Truth is there's not a lot to choose from at the moment.
The car came on Pirelli P-Zero as OEM equipment in sizes 255/35 ZR20 (93Y) fronts and 315/30 ZR21 (105Y) rears, both are NA1 rated.
The only alternative I can find so far in the correct sizes and rating is Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport. Michelin PS4S were on the cards, but sadly do not appear correctly rated for my TTS.

No recent experience of Goodyears. Are they good?

Regards,

Clive

Clive,

The Goodyears were pretty good on my C2S. Definitely better that P Zeros, but not as good as the PS4S.

I struggled to find correct Michelins, albeit for my 986, but I managed to order via the Michelin website for fitting at a dealer of my choice...

that said I did get a call later that day from the local dealer to say they are on back order for about a month...so I should be good by the end of the month..

For what it's worth my 4GTS was supplied with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric NAO (obviously not the Supersport you mention) and after one year and 6000m I'm pleased to say their all-round performance has been nothing short of excellent.

Clive,

If you look on the Porsche Configurator you’ll find quite a few approved alternatives for your Turbo S, although they may not all be ideal for for year-round use:

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 and F1 Supersport R
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2
Pirelli PZero and PZero Corsa

I was hoping I might be able to source some PS4S's, but Michelin confirm they can only supply PS Cup 2 tyres as suitable for my vehicle.
It's a good tyre, but not an ideal choice for use in our North Devon lanes! ??
Thanks for your responses. I'll take a closer look at those alternatives and then make a decision. Thankfully, I still have a little time before they'll be needed.

Regards,

Clive

Hopefully the new PS5S will get Porsche approved N rating soon Clive ?
all the best

Thanks Dylan,
This factor did figure in my deliberations, but preliminary enquires seemed to indicate this is only being launched as an OEM supplied product initially and probably not in the appropriate sizes anyway.

Thankfully, I'm in no desperate need for replacement tyres atm, so can keep a watching brief on developments. .????

Regards,

Clive

Good Year Eagle F1 on my 992 GTS too, and as a fan of Michelin tyres, I'm very happy with these Good Year tyres. :)
